The European Patent Office has announced that it will be increasing its official fees from 1 April 2026.
The cosmetics industry is constantly evolving, with new formulations, delivery systems and cosmetics products entering the market every day. Despite this innovation, many assume that cosmetics products or methods are too obvious to be patentable. In reality, cosmetics formulations, novel active ingredients, novel combinations of known ingredients, unique delivery systems, and even methods of use can be protected through patent protection.
In this webinar, Scott Macdonald explores what makes a cosmetics invention patentable in the UK and Europe, how to secure strong patent protection, and why patents can provide a strategic advantage in a highly competitive and fast-moving industry. We’ll also briefly cover alternative IP strategies, including trade secrets and design rights, to help you choose the best protection for your innovation.
This 45-minute webinar is ideal for professionals in R&D, product development, or intellectual property management within the cosmetics, personal care, or beauty sectors.
