Cathy Ayers joined the IP profession in 1990 and has specialised in trade mark and design work since 1992. She has worked for a number of private practice firms and joined Wilson Gunn in 2020, after 13 years with a firm based in the South East.
Cathy has dealt with a very diverse range of clients in her 30 years in the profession, always aiming to add value to clients’ businesses by smoothing the way in dealing with a sometimes complex legal and strategic process.
Dispute resolution, and particularly negotiating settlements, have always been a large part of Cathy’s work. Furthermore, as Cathy has mainly dealt with UK-based clients over the last 20 years, she has a great deal of experience in protecting and defending the rights of UK companies overseas.
Cathy has been a member of CITMA’s Designs Committee and has a keen interest in this species of IP protection. She has experience in filing designs at the UKIPO and EUIPO and advising on design matters further afield.
