Andrew Hartley has over 15 years’ experience protecting technology in the engineering sector and advising businesses on IP strategy and management. Andrew joined Wilson Gunn in 2021 and is energetic and passionate about his chosen profession and thrives on helping businesses succeed.
Andrew specialises in drafting and prosecuting patent portfolios in key global jurisdictions and has extensive experience conducting due diligence investigations and advising on patent infringement and validity. Andrew also spends much of his time advising on IP management within businesses including IP capture, handling of confidential information and trade secrets, portfolio management, and commercial strategy.
Prior to joining Wilson Gunn, Andrew worked for a top-tier international law firm and, prior to that, spent several years as patents manager for Rolls-Royce PLC in the UK.
Andrew’s areas of technical competency include: semiconductor fabrication and devices including microelectromechanical systems, LED and LCD displays, image sensors, volatile and non-volatile memory architectures and data management processes; autonomous vehicles; machine learning algorithms; additive layer manufacturing; composite components and fabrication techniques; electrical machines; medical devices and general mechanical engineering.
