Alexander Pickles joined Wilson Gunn in 2019 and is working toward qualification as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney. Prior to joining Wilson Gunn, Alexander worked for a specialist intellectual property law firm in the South West of England. He has also completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at Manchester Metropolitan University and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the honourable society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2019. He is also an ADR Group Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator.
Alexander has experience in filing, managing and policing trade marks both in the UK and internationally. He is particularly interested in contentious matters, and can often be found assisting the wider team in prosecution, opposition and cancellation proceedings at all levels before the UK and EU trade marks registries. This has included proceedings before the Appointed Person in the UK and the Boards of Appeal of the EUIPO.
Alexander maintains a keen interest in artistic and literary copyright issues. He is well placed to assist in both enforcing and defending in copyright and design disputes.
