Simon Church graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Prior to taking his degree, Simon had worked for a number of engineering companies gaining valuable practical experience as an engineer. After graduation, Simon trained as a Patent Examiner at the UK Patent Office before transferring to the Ministry of Defence, where he was responsible for advising on intellectual property issues in relation to contracts and licences. Simon subsequently moved to the patents department at Automotive Products Limited, where he went on to qualify as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney, and later moved into private practice. Simon joined Wilson Gunn in 2004 and specialises in mechanical patent work with a particular interest in automotive engineering. Simon also has experience in design and copyright issues.
