Pat Phillips graduated from the University of Sheffield with a special honours degree in physics. Pat then worked for four years in the space industry as an engineer gaining experience in the fabrication of discrete electronic components before entering the patent profession, initially working in private practice in Germany and having a special interest in semiconductor technology. She then moved to private practice in the UK, qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 1993 and a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1994, at that time specialising in the field of automotive technology. Pat joined Wilson Gunn in 1997 and has since gained extensive experience handling patent work in the fields of mechanical and electronic engineering, computer technology and physics. She additionally specialises in copyright and design law.
