Mark Thurston B.Sc., Ph.D., FRAS

Mark Thurston read astrophysics at the University of Birmingham and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in multi-wavelength observational astrophysics from the same university. Mark has authored numerous astrophysical journal papers, as well as contributing to both astronomical and historical textbooks. After leaving university, Mark worked for an investment bank in the City of London as a derivatives software engineer, and shortly afterwards was offered the opportunity to design specialist financial software for the London Stock Exchange. Mark joined Wilson Gunn in 2007, having begun his career in private practice with another firm. He specialises in computing, electronics, software, optics, imaging and medical devices. Mark is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and has recently taken final examinations to qualify as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney.
