John Badger read mechanical engineering at Manchester University and after graduation spent several years undertaking development work with a major aviation electronics company before entering the patent profession. He qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1975, and as a European Patent Attorney in 1978. Prior to joining Wilson Gunn in 2004, John had responsibility for a wide range of patent work with two major international companies. He has acquired a considerable breadth of knowledge of patent procedures in numerous overseas countries as well as patent prosecution, opposition and appeal work before the European Patent Office. John has experience in an extensive range of products and technologies including those in the consumer products field, aviation and industrial engineering, food processing, power systems, control equipment, wind turbines and wave and solar power. He also handles trade mark work as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney. In addition, John is experienced in advising on licensing and IP strategy and in undertaking IP audits.
